Atlantic Highlands First Aid Names 2010 Officers
ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS – The Atlantic Highlands First Aid & Safety Squad
started the 2010 with the naming of a new line of officers.
For the second consecutive year, Richard Huff has been named chief of the all-volunteer emergency medical services and rescue organization. Tom Hayden is the first lieutenant and Ray Stoever returns as second lieutenant.
Also, past captain Jerry Pandolfo has been named president. Past president Lou Marotta is the vice president, Walter Curry returns as treasurer, John Ligon as secretary and Bev Glynn as assistant secretary.
“We are coming off a fantastic 2009 and 2010 is going to be even better,” said Richard Huff. “We have a dynamic group of officers, and more important, terrific leaders at the top of the organization.”
Indeed, in 2009, the organization was named EMS magazine’s volunteer Gold Award winner, and Pandolfo was named Volunteer EMT of the Year by the New Jersey Department of Health & Senior Services, Office of Emergency Medical Services.
The Atlantic Highlands First Aid & Safety Squad provides free around-the-clock EMS services to the community. Members all volunteer their time for training and to respond to calls big and small. The organization operates on donations from the borough and the community.
“We have two significant goals out of the many good things we want to do in 2010,” said Huff. “First, we will continue to provide top-quality service to our community, and second, we want to increase our membership. Like any volunteer organization, the AHFAS depends on dedicated people to keep it going, and we are always looking for more help.”
