For teens interested in participating in the AHFAS there is a cadets program, which allows them to learn about the squad, first aid, and more. The program is open to students between the ages of 14 and 17, and is designed to create the next generation of volunteer emergency responders. Several current adult members of the AHFAS started out as cadets and earned their EMT status before graduating high school.
Once a cadet member reaches the age of 16, they’re allowed to ride on the ambulances to some emergency calls. Training is provided under the supervision of AHFAS officers. Meetings start at 7:00pm on the first Tuesday of every month at the Emergency Services Building. If you are interested in joining or have any questions about the cadet program, please e-mail
