Want to help your friends, family and neighbors? Looking for a way to use your free time for a good cause? Recently retired and bored of tinkering around the house? If so, the Atlantic Highlands First Aid Squad may be the place for you.
The Atlantic Highlands First Aid & Safety Squad is always looking to add new members to keep this vital service going. No experience is necessary to help out. Free training is provided, and the rewards are endless. New members are immediately trained in CPR and safe ambulance driving skills. Members are then encouraged to train to become an Emergency Medical Technician within their first year of being a member. To do so, requires attending a free 120-hour course.
Once fully trained, the squad asks members commit to making a minimum of 10% of the annual calls, which is about one call a week. Also, the AHFAS asks members to be available for one ‘duty’ night a week, which means being available to respond from their homes between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
The commitment is minimal, but the rewards are endless in terms of being able to help your fellow neighbors in times of need.
