ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS FIRST AID & SAFETY SQUAD PROVIDES MULTIPLE WAYS FOR RESIDENTS TO SUPPORT THE

The Atlantic Highlands First Aid & Safety Squad this week kicked off its annual fund drive and is offering more ways than ever for area residents to show their support the all-volunteer emergency medical services organization.

Once again, the squad is offering supporters the option of using credit and debit cards to donate through a safe and secure digital option via www.ahfirstaid.org. There, supporters can simply click on the donate button for a simple, safe, instant transaction.

Letters were sent out last week to all residents detailing the squad’s annual drive goals and how funds are used for this once a year outreach.

“Every dollar raised during our annual fund drive goes directly back into helping you, our friends and neighbors, in their time of need,” says AHFAS President Emily Allen. “We use these funds to purchase medical supplies, to maintain our ambulances and equipment, and to provide training to our members who willingly give up their free time to provide this service to the community.”

The all-volunteer AHFAS answered a record 640 calls for service in 2018 and that number continues to grow each year.

The annual fund drive helps cover about half of the squad’s annual operating budget. The squad depends on the generosity of the borough and its residents to fund this critical service.

The AHFAS is a 501c3 non-profit organization so there are a variety of ways in which residents can demonstrate their support, including the annual fund drive, or by considering planned gifts, family trusts, corporate donations and work-place matching programs.

For information about how you can help the AHFAS by becoming a member, or through a donation, please call the non-emergency number, (732) 291-8118, or visit www.ahfirstaid.org. Also follow the Squad on Facebook at @ahfirstaid and on Twitter at @ahfirstaid.

“All donations help,” says Allen. “Supporters can use our digital donation option or they can mail a check using our pre-addressed envelopes provided in our fund drive letter. Every donation helps assure that we’re able to continue providing this high-quality service to the level our residents expect and deserve."
